How do
I install the software I downloaded?
Technically there is no installation process. All you need
to do is un-Zip or Un-Stuff the downloaded package and save
its content on your hard drive. This makes it convenient
to move your setup to other computers.

Why is Neuromixer software free?
Neuromixer represents a line of tools created by VJ_Fader.
The goal is to let other users benefit from these video
manipulation tools and be captivated by the fun of VJing.
Hopefully there will be a growing number of people identifying
with Neuromixer and use it at gigs or home.
There are plans to commercialize Neuromixer line of products,
Summer of year 2005 for a nominal charge; to better serve
its customers. This will help better serve Neuromixer users
and further develop other innovative VJ software and hardware.

What
type of media does Neuromixer support?
Neuromixer can play all Quicktime formats, and most picture,
audio, Flash, and AVI formats. (Installation of the latest
Quicktime player is strongly recommended. Some plug-ins
may be needed to play special formats)

Why is
Neuromixer crashing often on my machine?
Crashing may caused by many factors and often difficult
to pin point. It can be caused by driver conflicts, slow
CPU and RAM performance, or software conflicts. Please report
your problem as they arise so your problem can be resolved.
Here are things that might cause crashing:
1.Running other graphics software along with Neuromixer
2.Slower computer with low RAM memory
3.Older graphics card
4.Unstable movie codec
5.Computer been running other applications prior to launching

Why does
the video play so slow and choppy?
If your FPS count drops below 10, your video playback will
be noticeably choppy. It takes a lot of processing power
to play video on a personal computer. There are some factors
might be the causes to slow video playback:
1.Slow CPU and graphics card
2.File or image size is large
3.Running other application at the same time
4.Applying many effects or compositing
5.Fragmented hard drive
Here are some things you can try to optimize your computer:
1.Re-render your video files to Quicktime Video codec (please
read below for more info)
2.Restart the computer before running Neuromixer
3.De-fragment the hard drive where your media is located
4.Only turn on the effects you are using
5.Use a newer computer

What Quicktime movie codec are recommended?
| For
best image quality: please try Photo JPEG or Motion
JPEG formats with 100% quality, 30 FPS, at 320 by 240
pixels. |

best performance: Please try VIDEO codec with key frame
every 1 second, 100% quality at 320 by 240 pixels. |

If running
only one video channel, you can try rendering video size
at 640 by 480 pixels, or try Quicktime DV/DV CAM format.
If there is an audio track, you may render it uncompressed
at 44 khz, 16 bit stereo.

How to enable full screen mode on the extended desktop?
If you have a graphics card that supports an extended desktop;
a video card with two outputs; you can drag the output window
onto the second desktop space. Then either toggle the full
screen icon ,
or press “Esc” key on your keyboard to enable
full screen mode.

When I hit “Record” button (sample to disk),
where are the files being saved to?
| For
Mac users: before recording, please drag and drop a
folder into the Sampler settings box. All your samples
will be saved into that folder. |

For
PC users: the sampled recordings are saved inside a supplied
folder titled “recordings”. If you have changed
the folder name or moved this folder, please create a new
folder and give it the same name.

I do not hear any audio, why?
| Please
make sure to turn ON the audio in the Audio preferences
window, and you have the correct audio driver selected. |

In Windows, Digital Video input is not working, why?
Please download and install the DV input driver such as
WinDig on your system. Plug in your Digital Video device
first, then launch Neuromixer.
